A brief note on some resolutions that have been adopted by the UN General Assembly Plenary.

(I have compared all resolutions with their 2010 numbers rather than those of 2011 as operational readiness was not voted on in 2011 and I wanted to compare like with like.)

Operational Readiness
Operational Readiness has improved its showing over 2010, when it was last adopted, by 7 votes, going from 157 to 164. However, Russia, which previously abstained or was absent during these votes, has voted an ugly 'NO".

Reducing Nuclear Danger
Went up marginally from 2010, going from 2010 121-49-14, to 2012 123-48-15.

United Action
A marginal improvement if at all. While it was adopted by one more vote than in 2010, the number of abstainees also increased by two.
2010 173-1-11 2012 174-1-13.

Nuclear Disarmament ('NAM") - A slight improvement on 2010.  Went from 120-45-18 in 2010, to 124-44-18 in 2012.

New Agenda
Has improved marginally since 2010. 2010 173-5-5, 2012 175-6-5. Two more yesses one more no.

CTBT
This is the resolution that has improved the most, apart from operational readiness.  2010- 179-1-3, 2012- 184-1-3

Overall on these important resolutions can can see a marginal increase over 2010, but also in a few cases an increase in the number of no votes.
